Get Your Mailers In By:
Coach Becky Robinson of the IC Crew team will do all of the mailing for us (thanks, Coach Robinson!) - all we have to do is bring her address tabulation sheets with the names, addresses and phone numbers of the people we sent out the mailers to. So print out a bunch of the mailers (you can download the form below), get out your address book, and get to writing! We're positive everyone knows at least 25 awesome relatives, friends and adults with giving hearts!
What Is It?
Row for Community (formerly Row for Humanity) is IC Habitat's biggest fundraiser of the year. We partner with the Ithaca College Crew Team to send out mailers to friends, family, faculty and community members, who sponsor Habitat for Humanity monetarily. Then, to raise awareness about the cause and make good on the pledge donations, Habitat members row on "ergs," or workout rowing machines, alongside Crew members.
How Can HFH Members Help?
Brainstorm as many relatives, friends, family members, adults, co-workers, employees, employers and random people on the street as you can! Then get their addresses (the random people on the street may be a lost cause), fill out the mailers (download at the bottom of this page) and bring them back to the meeting on Sunday, December 5!
What Does It Benefit?
All of the money raised by Habitat members from Row for Community goes back to the IC Habitat organization, and the Crew Team will match up to $5,000 for IC HFH. All of that money will go toward defraying the cost of our break trips, which is especially important next year because we're planning a two-week trip to New Orleans!
What Can I Get Outta This?
By contributing monetarily, you get the satisfaction of bolstering a really worthwhile organization that's doing so much good throughout the community. If you're a Habitat member looking for inspiration to send out mailers...every Habitat member who sends out 25 mailers (see left) gets a free t-shirt. And the Habitat member who raises the most money from their mailing campaign gets a guaranteed break trip spot next winter!
